Effectiveness & Efficiency of In-House & Outside Consulting Firms

This project assessed the feasibility of outsourcing as a strategy for the XYZ bon ton with respect to the development of packet.

The XYZ Company has specialized needs for info management and processing software system outline package that cannot easily be met through the acquisition of offthe shelf software programs. The design, testing, and implementation process for the development of new software programs is a cost intensive activity. Cost, however, is a relative factor, as the effectiveness and the efficiency of software programs is of paramount importance. This project provided a basis for a comparative evaluation of effectiveness, efficiency, and cost factors in relation to two alternative approaches to the development of new data management and processing software for the XYZ Company.

Five hypotheses were formulated and tested in this project. These five hypotheses were stated as follows:

Hypothesis one: There lead be no significant divergence between software users and software developers with respect to the effectiveness of software authentic by inhouse programmers and that developed by outside consultants. This hypothesis was stated and tested in the energy form.

In this structure, the logical relationships between data elements may be more than complex than is possible in the hierarchical structure, because this structure permits relationships to be manytomany, as opposed to the onetomany limit in the hierarchical structure. With the manytomany relationships characteristic, the network structure permits entry into a data base at triune points.

Hypothesis five was stated as follows: There will be no significant difference between software users and software developers with respect to the operating costs associated with software developed by inhouse programmers and that developed by outside consultants. The hypothesis was tested through the application of chi comforting analysis to the data. The results of the chi square analysis are presented in skirt 7, which may be found on the pastime page. As the data presented in Table 7 indicate, the chemical reaction differences between users and developers were not statistically significant. Thus, the hypothesis was, by inference, accepted.
