The Crusades Triumphs and Catastrophes


All kids love candy. So much that they dont tending if they eat too much. When licorice first came out kids belief it was the best candy ever, like snickers. Licorice is today hitherto the nastiest candy in the entire world. It taste like take a camels hump. Turns out, many people have made this faulting of thinking something is good, then realizing it is not so good subsequently all. Take the crusades for example, many thought they were doing the right thing by trying to take over the Holy Lands, but they were nonsensical and ended up killing hundreds of thousands of people.


In 1906 and 1291, Western atomic number 63 wanted to liberate the Holy sepulcher from the Muslims, and restore Christian possession of it(English 203). The name Crusade which evolved in the 13th century, derived from the mark of the cross, worn by participants(English 203). Various motives were behind the Crusades for individuals and groups, but the vogue as a whole resulted from the combined effects of religion, social, and economical factors(English 204).


The middle ages was the era for discovery, and power. Power overwhelmed the Pope who wanted much and more.



The Christian church had lost control of the Holy Lands to the Arabs in the 7th century(Harrison 36). The Arabs were Muslims and followed Mohammed, the founder of the Islamic religion(Harrison 36). At first they let Christian pilgrims visit the holy place(Harrison 36). But when Muslim Turks invaded the region, they began to blast the pilgrims(Harrison 36). The Pope wanted to take back the Holy Lands, and undertake rid of the Muslims. Some 30,000 soldiers, mostly Franks and Germans, participated in the First Crusades(Golson 94). The Crusades cut across the Anatolia Peninsula and took Antioch in 1096(Golson 94).
