Introduction:
The novel For Whom the Bell Tolls, by Ernest Hemingway, is a book ab away Robert Jordan, a dynamiter work for the Republic who is tasked with the destruction of a bridge in the Spanish Civil fight. In order to achieve this task, he whole caboodle with a band of guerilla fighters in the area. The story tells of the events that occurred a few days in the beginning the destruction of the bridge through and through the eyes of Robert Jordan. The basic plot is that Robert Jordan arrives at the cave where the guerrilla fighters are, hears a story from Pilar about the execution of the Dons, and goes to El Sorado to get more fighters. El Sorado and his fighters are attacked and fling offed, and Pablo leaves with the detonators. Pablo returns with more men, and Robert Jordan improvises detonators out of grenades. Finally, the bridge is blown with Robert Jordan unable to move and forced to kill as many soldiers as he can before he dies. The bridge was blown in an attempt to keep back the fascists from bringing reinforcements to counter the Republics surprise attack. However, Robert Jordan nones and tries to caution the Republic about the massive garrison they had sent up. The depicted object comes too late, and it is inferred that the attack caused massive casualties to the Republican army.
