In the taste, Where I lived, and What I lived For, Thoreau explains his journey through living at Walden pool. Emerson let him use the land, and he earned his living by staying at this place. However, what is interesting is the fact that Thoreau never earned all money by living at Walden Pond. He had a different kind of living then others, and he was talented with the life he was undergoing. Walden Pond was a place where he did all of his thinking and a place where he apprehended the beauty of life surrounding him. One of his ideas that really potty me, was how he said that life is predetermined if you inherit a farm with a lot of land. Furthermore, he exclaims that individuals are obligated for performing hard labor all day and night. He feels that these individuals work so hard that they have no time to think or be inspired by anything some them.
In the beginning, Thoreau talks about the Cabin at Walden Pond and recalls that in front of the cabin were several trees. He explains that the whim takes us traveling through new ideas and experiences, and this explains why he would bathe in the pond every morning.
On paginate 64, he says, we must learn to reawaken and keep ourselves awake, non by mechanical aids, but by an infinite candidate of the dawn, which does not forsake us in our soundest sleep. In this quote, hes being optimistic and telling the reader that humanity have the opportunity to evolve if they pay more direction to the aspects of life surrounding them. The big question that Thoreau asks in this essay is, what does it mean to be a human being? Therefore, he went to the woods to find out about what it means to be a human being and how to live a solid life.
