Intro:
The reason I chose peacock blue for my final musical composition has to do with the history and some family ties I have with the mineral. And I similarly thought I would be different and consider a mineral not many people have intercourse about.
History:
Turquoise in Nevada has been mined before the prototypic European settlers. Anasazi Indians were some of the graduation to mine turquoise and uptake it for beautiful jewelry. However, unlike some of the tribes in Arizona that also cherish turquoise, silver work and the art of making innate American style silver jewelry never became richly established in Nevada. As a result, even though Nevada still produces considerable quantities of turquoise, the traditional use of this gem in the crafts of the Paiute and Shoeshone tribes of Nevada is rare by comparison to the prolific use of these gems by the Arizona and New Mexico tribes.
My grandmother is Shoeshone Indian and that is where I first got introduced to turquoise. She had beautiful jewelry that he mother and father would practice and sell. My great great grandfather would mine silver and turquoise and make jewelry to trade among other settlers. When I was progeny we lived in New Mexico where turquoise or they call Indian jewelry was very popular.



We would go to my grandfathers pick out outside Tonopah Nevada and mine turquoise for a few geezerhood and come back and sell it to Elkins Jewelry so it was kind of a hobby growing up.
Geology:
Turquoise is not a very common mineral it needs a received environment to form. It needs five specific conditions. What makes they dry give up states good for this mineral to form.
