Voting Rights for U.S. Wo workforce During the 19th century women in America were considered help class citizens. They were looked down upon by men, both physically and intellectually. Although they lived in a free country, women often fell victim as slaves within their own homes. Women were stereotyped as being weak, flabby and frail and any type of unconventional work was deemed hazardous. A womans main lot in intent was to be subordinate to her husband and maintain the duties of the home. Womens rights as one could imagine were minute. They could not own property, maintain their wages, bulls eye contracts, hold political offices or vote. However throughout the excitation of the Womens Movement new leaders began to emerge. One of the inaugural sparks in the movement was lit by Frances Fanny Wright. She invoked fleece and fear with her speeches of womens rights during 1828-1829. During a time when it was improper for a woman to speak in public places, Franny was at the pulpit with her message loud and clear.
