Ethnic Groups and Discrimination Throughout my life I have continuously been told that it has been hard for African Americans in the United States to be authorized as an equal. When I was younger I did not tell apart what that comment meant but as I got older I soon learned what it meant when people said that comment. With all the bill courses I have taken throughout my school long time and to actually witnessing for myself, I knew then that African Americans came far in life. At moment that is when I knew that it was an honor to be an African American woman in the United States. During the course of slavery African American had to endure harsh conditions as slaves. One of the harsh conditions that the slave had to endure was the treatment by their owner. After the slaves were shell several of them died and several of them was left with scars that were permanent.
